5:39 p.m. ||August 18, 2004 Apartment Hunting and Other Stuff I made appts to check out two apartments. I was trying to save money by maybe moving to another place because where I am now is so damn expensive. Well after my search I know its true you get what you pay for. Heres how both places measure up to my apartment 1st place I went to - called President Village
Pros private entry nice kitchen w/ white cabinets nicer bathroom more windows more modern ceiling fan can have pets Cons no balcony- I have a balcony a lot smaller than my place, only 600 square feet- my place is 780 square feet not as many closets- I have 5 closets no dishwasher- thank god I have one children from hell all over the place, one tried to squirt me with his squirt gun apartment is on busy street near intersection- I live on a quiet road, with the exception of some tractor trailers who get lost (dont ask) further from work by 15 minutes (hell right now I live on the same street where I work) no pool or fitness room- I have both 2nd place called insert town name Gardens Pros There are none I never made it inside. I took one look in the parking lot and left. Cons very busy street and multiple intersections on way to appointment was stuck in parking lot traffic jam place should be called Ghetto Gardens, when I pulled in the complex it resembled South Central After my small search is over, Ive decided I will sign on here another year. I do like it here, I never realized how roomy the place is and its safe and quiet. The only things that irk me a little about my apartment is the super 70's kitchen, complete with dark wood panel looking cabinets, yellow and beige counter and (yuck) mustard yellow tile, my pimpmaster neighbor who lives upstairs and my carpet that is a bit stained- why anyone would install beige carpet is beyond me. Cigarette breaks I go out about 3-4 time a day for a cigarette at work and always, always, always there are the same people there. What the hell can you continue to talk to them about when youve seen them 50 times already? I usually prefer to stay to the side and smoke alone or I go out with a close co-worker. I use my butt break as my time out to relax. Not to mention its the only time I have since Im back to not taking lunches. Anyway the funny thing is it seems that people in high positions at work, smoke the most (note this in no way includes me) 3 of the VPs go out about 10 times a day. I try to avoid them because they always talk shop. I also find it pretty humorous that in my department of 6 people, 5 of us smoke. Do you think its a stressful job? |
