I had a good weekend. Friday night I went to a Sox game with my department at work. We went to dinner first at this real swanky place in Boston. I ended up getting scallops, but of course since the place is so fancy, the food is more for show. They only gave me 5 damn scallops. We also got some great seafood appetizers including fried calmari and oysters on the half shell. The oysters weren't as bad as I thought. I don't always do the raw bar but I figured I'd try something different. The game was awesome. There was plenty of action. The Sox played The Pirates. For the first 3 innings the Pirates were ahead, then we caught up, then they caught up and we were tied until the last inning when Johnny Damon saved the day. I did enjoy the game but felt a little sick going home. I didn't drink much. My boss kept buying us beers and I gave them to the young 21(or so they said) year olds's sitting behind me. I think I just ate too much. I also had a hot dog, fries and some chicken strips. What a piggy. Saturday night S and I went to this restaurant over the harbor that has an outdoor bar. It was actually a little cold. They place was ok but very dead. We didn't do anything else since I am so broke right now. I saw my father for Father's Day. He came here from CO because he had a job interview. He wants to move back here and his interview sounded very promising. They paid for his airfare, hotel and rental car. So I met him at my grandparent's for a cookout. This is the side of the family I see maybe once a year or every six months. I really enjoy it now when I do see them. My cousins are growing up so it doesn't feel like such a wide gap between us anymore. I am the oldest, the next olders is 22 on down to the youngest who is 8. Oh gawd, S has been bugging me to sign up for the stupid 8 minute date thing, so I finally did. We're going to the event in about 2 weeks. We'll have 6 eight minute dates with guys ranging from 23-35 I think. That should be real interesting. Oh and silly me set up another personal ad. I don't know why. I'm thinking I might delete it. I got 8 responses and out of that I really only was intrigued with one. I suppose I will respond to him but not tonight. My friend from highschool called me that other day and ask that I attend her wedding. This would maybe not be so strange if she did not tell me about a month ago that she cancelled the wedding. Basically she had the dress, the hall, the dj and a bunch of stuff booked for next year. Then she and her bf had a fight. They always fight I might add and seem to be miserable together anyway. I think they only stay together because they have a son. Anyway she told me she cancelled the wedding, told her family and gave the ring back. You would think that would be it right. She told me she wanted to foget about him and blah blah blah.... Well wrong-o again. She frigging calls me and says that she is getting married tomorrow at the town hall and she would like it if I would go. What the hell is she thinking? It's like she's deciding to tie the knot real quick before one of them backs out again. I think the whole thing is ridiculous and I haven't called her. Yeah, maybe I seem like a rotten friend but we're not that close. I feel she only calls me when she and the bf are on the outs. Also I don't think I can try to pretend that she is doing the right thing. I honestly don't want to deal with the drama of it.
